The 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari is an exciting and immersive adventure that takes you deep into the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its dense rainforest and as home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. This short but unforgettable journey offers travelers a unique opportunity to witness one of the world’s most profound wildlife encounters—face-to-face interaction with mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
Visit Mountain Gorillas also called the “gentle giants” and have an insight into the Batwa/Pygmies culture in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You will spend time with the Gorillas, take photos, have a guided lazy walk to the local community and visit hospitals, schools and souvenir craft shops.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe/Kigali airport and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Meet Jewel Safaris representative at the airport or hotel if already in Uganda, have briefing on your 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking safari and start for South Western Uganda via Kampala. You will have stops at places of interest including the equator for photography and stretching. Lunch in Mbarara and proceed to the lodge
Later, take a lazy community walk and visit local hospitals, schools and craft shops.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi. Takes between 3 – 9 hrs .
Following early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing on the Gorilla adventure. Grab your walking stick, drinking water and enter the forest sanctuary in search for Mountain Gorillas. You will be guided by knowledgeable rangers who share detailed information on Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and primate life. Meet the gentle giants and watch them as they interact, take photos and later return to the lodge. No doubt, an hour spent with the Gorillas is an unforgettable experience. Look out for other animals and forest birds including African green pigeon, African harrier hawk, Cinnamon-chested bee-eater, Crowned hornbill and Giant kingfisher
Later, visit the Batwa community and have a unique cultural experience. The Batwa are hunter gatherers who used to live inside Bwindi Forest until park authorities forced them out. You will be told ancient stories and get an insight into their culture and tradition. Return to the lodge

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala or Kigali for Depature.
After breakfast, drive to Kampala. Lunch enroute and proceed to the airport arriving in time for your next international flight

What’s the best time to go gorilla trekking?
The dry seasons (June–August and December–February) offer the best trekking conditions. However, the wet season (March–May, October–November) often has more permit availability and fewer crowds.

What should I wear for a gorilla trek?
Wear long-sleeved shirts, trousers, waterproof hiking boots, a rain jacket, insect repellent, and gardening gloves for grabbing vegetation. Also bring a hat, water bottle, and camera (no flash).

How difficult is the trek?
Trekking can range from easy to strenuous, depending on the location and gorilla movement. Bwindi is known for its steep terrain, while Volcanoes National Park is moderately challenging. Your guide will brief you in advance.
