06:00 AM – Pickup from Your Hotel in Kisoro
Our driver-guide picks you up for a transfer to the park headquarters (either Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, depending on permit availability) for the 1 Day Gorilla Trekking Uganda safari.
07:30 AM – Gorilla Trekking Briefing
You’ll be assigned to a gorilla family group and briefed on tracking etiquette and safety.
08:00 AM – Start the Gorilla Trek
Hike through thick rainforest with a professional ranger team. The trek may last anywhere from 1 to 5 hours, depending on the gorilla location.
1 Hour with the Gorillas

1 Day Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience Uganda from Kisoro
Your day begins with an early pickup at 6:00 AM from your hotel in Kisoro. From there, you'll be transferred to the nearby park headquarters — either in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, depending on your gorilla permit.
At around 7:30 AM, you'll attend a detailed pre-trek briefing conducted by experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You’ll be assigned a gorilla family group and learn the dos and don’ts of trekking through the forest.
By 8:00 AM, you’ll begin your trek into the dense jungle. The trekking duration can range from 1 to 5 hours depending on the movement of the gorilla family. Once you find them, you’ll enjoy a powerful and emotional one-hour encounter with the gorillas in their natural habitat — a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience.
After the trek, you’ll return to the base and enjoy a packed lunch at around 1:00 PM, surrounded by the serene forest atmosphere. Then, you’ll begin the journey back to Kisoro with your guide.
You’ll be dropped off at your hotel between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM, ending a truly unforgettable day in the heart of gorilla country.
